ALNA’s new payments offer with Windcave
Last week's Business Boost Live webinar on ALNA’s new payments offer with Catherine Claringbull, Windcave's National Manager for Australia, drew one of our largest audiences yet and ran fifteen minutes over on member questions alone.
Catherine walked through how least cost routing works under the ALNA offer. The aim is to get as much of your debit volume as possible onto the domestic eftpos network at a flat 5.75 cents, including Apple Pay and Google Pay taps, which land there roughly nine times out of ten. She also explained Interchange++ and why it matters from 1 October: with interchange, scheme fees and Windcave's fixed 0.16% margin itemised separately on your invoice, the interchange cap reductions flow straight through to you rather than to your provider.
Also covered were Windcave's in-house terminals and software, its direct connections to the card schemes, 24/7 support staffed by its own people, three layers of connection redundancy for regional stores, and next business day settlement.
More than 400 members are now in the application process. Suncorp switches off on 10 December, and the paperwork is the slow part rather than the terminals, so get your application in now.
Speak to your GM if you'd like your current merchant statement compared against the offer.
