Windcave EFTPOS Payments Offer

ALNA has spent more than eight months speaking with and negotiating with dozens of payment providers on behalf of 1,800-member small businesses in our industry. The result is a member-only EFTPOS offer with Windcave who mainly look after very large retailers, but who are now helping us. We believe the deal delivers better technology, genuinely better support, and industry-leading debit pricing.
-
A flat 5.75 cents per transaction on debit routed to eftpos - a fixed fee, not a percentage. On the average $40 sale in our channel, that's a fraction of what percentage-based pricing charges. And it includes tokenised Apple Pay and Google Pay debit taps as well.
-
As highlighted in the flyer, Least Cost Routing (LCR) is enabled. Small debit taps under $10 automatically route via Visa/Mastercard debit networks at percentage pricing; everything above $10 routes to the flat 5.75c pricing with the Australian domestic EFTPOS network. The $10 threshold is set where these networks typically crossover. The routing picks the cheapest network for the overwhelming majority of all transactions. Debit transactions typically represent 70%+ of most retailer’s transactions with LCR enabled for dual network cards.
-
Visa/Mastercard credit is priced at Interchange++ plus a fixed 0.16% margin, with every cost component itemised as its own line on your invoice – this is the most transparent pricing model in the market. (*Estimated comparison blended rate of 0.63% total for Visa/MasterCard Consumer Credit Cards).
-
Amex and international cards can be switched off if you don't want them.
-
Terminal rental is free for the first 12 months, terminal rolls are free, and setup is free.
-
The agreement runs for 36 months – that's what enables the ALNA Member fixed debit pricing and 12-month free terminal rental for members.
-
This isn't a small player: Windcave's clients include BP, Subway, David Jones, The Good Guys and IKEA – and they run the in-store payments for Lotto New Zealand's 1,100-outlet network, a lottery retail channel just like ours.
With the surcharge ban October 1, 2026, it is very busy right now with payment offers and there is a lot to understand and appreciate with each offer. You may see other EFTPOS offers promoted to you over the coming months, some with worked examples that look compelling. Payment’s pricing is deliberately hard to compare, so before you sign anything, ask three questions of any offer:
-
Is the quoted percentage the total you'll pay, or a margin added on top of interchange and scheme fees?
-
Does it have least cost routing enabled?
-
And what does it cost on your actual monthly sales mix, rather than on someone else's example shop?
The honest answer to that last one only comes from your own numbers, so If you'd like a real comparison, email a copy of a recent merchant statement to membership@alna.net.au and we will run your actual figures. That goes for any offer you're weighing up, not just this one.
When you're ready, applying only takes a few minutes.
IMPORTANT: If you're currently on ALNA’s previous Suncorp EFTPOS offer, please don't sit on this. Suncorp switches its service off on 10 December 2026, and terminals take time to order and set up, so please start your application now rather than in November. Once the application is complete you can let Windcave know when you want the terminals installed, but get the paperwork out of the way first.

Any questions at all, email membership@alna.net.au. We'd rather answer the same question fifty times than have a member sign something that isn't right for their business.
NOTE: you can ignore the website field, LCR and ANZIC Code fields in the application.
