ACCC Small Business and Franchising Consultative Committee 

ALNA CEO Ben Kearney has been a member of the  Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)  - SBFCC for more than 6 years, representing independent retailers in national competition policy discussions.

Fairwork Commission Small Business Reference Group

ALNA is a member of the Fairwork Commission Small Business Reference Group representing independent retailers on the critical issue of workplace relations. ALNA advocates for fair workplace conditions for independent small retail businesses.​

Reserve Bank of Australia Industry Liaison Group

ALNA is part of the RBA Industry Liaison Group and participates regularly in RBA consultations on payment systems and merchant fees, providing the important perspective of independent retailers on payments regulation.​

Casual Mall Licensing Code of Practice

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) authorised the SCCA Casual Mall Licensing Code of Practice in 2025. ALNA was invited by the Independent Chair to join the Code Administration Committee (CAC), representing independent retailers.​

We are members of ALNA as it provides advice when needed in many areas of business, and keeps us updated with changes in legislation and regulations that we may not otherwise be aware of.
